Is This Happiness ?

I have always been obsessed with pain and sadness. While my peers sought happy endings in fairy tales, I was drawn to melancholic melodies, wistful literature, and pensive films—an inescapable pull toward tragic beauty. For years, I questioned this fascination, knowing that humans are wired to seek pleasure and avoid suffering.

But is pain always harm? It is far more complex to me. This series of photographs captures me in improvisational dance, entwined with pins and woolen yarn that make the invisible weight of spiritual pain tangible. I should be suffering, yet I dance freely alongside it. In pain, I find an unexpected joy—the beauty in the broken, the eternal within the fleeting.

Perhaps we are all drawn to pain—as it is the only way to love.
